Learn More About L. Joe Stehlik

Joe has been practicing law in Pawnee City for more than fifty years. His mission and philosophy have not changed during this career: “To provide friendly and caring legal representation with unmatched drive and determination. What has changed is the depth of my skill and experience. One of the most important lessons I have learned over the past four decades is that negotiating a settlement is often better for our client than taking the matter to trial. Experience affords me the insight to look at every case clearly and objectively, even while acting as our client’s vigorous advocate.”

Upon earning his Bachelor of Science Degree, Cum Laude, from the College of Business Administration, University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Nebraska in 1968, Joe attended the University of Nebraska College of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate Degree in 1971. He served as Pawnee County Attorney from 1975 to 1987 and has been serving as Pawnee City Attorney or Deputy City Attorney since 1987.

Joe takes pride in Stehlik Law being a family-oriented business. His own family consists of three daughters: Jennifer Stehlik Ladman, an attorney at Stehlik Law; Elizabeth Stehlik, a certified Interior Designer with Office Interiors & Design in Lincoln, Nebraska; and Valerie Stehlik, an Engineering Manager at Hudl.
